Hi Everyone!
While I wouldn't call myself a foodie (i'll leave that to Shikha), I do love to eat. And often. Coming to San Francisco from Ohio has definitely reawakened my palette. From acai bowls to avocado toast and fresh sushi, i've been insanely impressed by what SF has to offer.
And one thing I think this city does better than the rest of the country? Seafood.
Luckily, I got to check out Ichi Kakiya – a beautiful seafood and Japanese restaurant tucked away in Bernal Heights.
Known for their oysters and raw bar, I indulged in a variety of colorful and delicious bites that are well-priced surrounded by an ever better atmosphere.
Pro Tip: If you get off work in time, make Ichi's happy hour. The menu (and prices!) is unreal.
Some of my favorites from their well-curated menu included the Cove Miyagi and Shigoku oysters, the Hamaguri clams, the Kabocha Dashi Soup with crab (SHOWSTOPPER!), and the House-Cured Umi Masu salad.
Seriously, you guys...it was phenomenal. Pair the meal with a delightful wine from their happy hour menu and your taste buds will be thrilled.
For more tasty updates, check out Ichi Kakiya's website and Instagram!
Cheers!
