Coming away from the long weekend with a mild sunburn and happy heart! If you didn’t catch some of my updates on Instagram, I traveled to Vancouver of the weekend to visit my best friend Courtney and her lovely Canadian boyfriend Dave.
I’ve been to Vancouver a few times, but this trip was really pretty epic. First off, we had the entire SF crew up to Van and having a long weekend made it even sweeter. Coming from a whirlwind work trip in Texas, I was super excited to spend time in the sun and lounge.
I got in Thursday evening and was ready to explore the next day. Court lives along Main Street (around 20th) so if you ever get a chance to go to Vancouver – visit Mt. Pleasant! Their neighborhood is adorable and so damn charming!
Some of the neighborhood highlights included late-night drinks at Uncle Abe’s, dinner at Anh and Chi, and all of the cute boutiques and shops.
Saturday was spent going to Kitsilano Beach with Jack (Andi and Eric’s dog), taking a ferry to Granville Island, sipping on homemade mojitos in Court and Dave’s backyard, dinner at Vij’s (and seeing Elijah Wood!) and watching the sunset on Canada Day at Queen Elizabeth Park.
Sunday called for a picnic at Stanley Park, many rounds of Boom!, and hanging out in Gastown.
We finally called it a weekend by closing it out with an epic hike in North Vancouver at Dog Mountain.
Heading into this short week (yess!) with such fullness that was made by such quality time with the people I love most.
Before I end, I wanted to share some other amazing Van spots that are must-sees if you visit!
- Ice Cream at Rain or Shine
- Radicle
- Boutiques like Woo To See You
- Tacos at La Taqueria
- Beers at 33 Acres
Cheers!
