- Cooking for 1 is semi lonely and clean up is a bitch
- My kitchen is insanely uninspiring
- I don't know where to start
That being said (and I say this every year), one of my resolutions in the new year is to cook. Well, at least attempt to cook. Luckily, I had a hand with cooking last night when I was invited to cook and sip Sangria with Canela and EatWith!
For some background, EatWith is "a global community that lets you enjoy authentic and intimate dining experiences in people's homes."
Pretty cool concept, right? Well time it was with Mat Schuster, Executive Chef of Canela Bistro & Wine Bar and the mission was Spanish tapas. In our 2 1/2 hour cooking extravaganza, we tried our hand at 5 different tapas from different areas of Spain.
From flipping the Spanish tortilla of potato, onion, spinach and currants to searing mushrooms with sherry, garlic and olive oil, the entire evening was informative, creative, and super fun. The Winter Fruit Spanish Sangria didn't hurt our case, either.
I highly suggest not only heading to Canela for some delicious food, but also exploring EatWith's variety of pop-ups in San Francisco and beyond.
Some that are catching my eye that I'm sure will catch yours, too:
Cheers!
