Happy Thursday! Hope you're having a good week and can't believe we're almost to the weekend. This week has been jam packed with things. From catching up with good friends on Monday to saying bon voyage to my fellow name-holder Amy as she embarks on a 3-month trip across the U.S., it's been full.

Luckily, I was able to snag a seat (and a drink – bless it) on Tuesday at Barbarossa. Nestled on the border of North Beach and the Financial District, this little spot is a (somewhat) hidden gem. I used to work in North Beach when I first moved to the city and loved walking up and down Columbus Street and observing the chaos. From "buy a slice" joints to old-school bars, North Beach has charm, novelty and history that most places in San Francisco don't have.

Barbarossa recently opened last year in November and luckily, I was able to head over for a peek. We started off with some dranks (as one does on a Tuesday) where I was greeted by the most phenomenal bartender who helped me pick something tasty.

My favorites? Bonny's Misfortune and Bandit's Way (above) which is a mixture of Irish Whiskey, Bourbon, housemade Cereal Milk, Old Fashioned Bitters and Hawaiian Nutmeg.

Seriously, y'all.

To polish off the cocktails,  we ordered the infamous and house sausages. If you're there for happy hour, fuel up with these bad boys. I promise, they'll fill you up so you won't be kicking yourself in the ass the next day.

True to form, we ordered a cheese plate and needless to say, I was in dairy heaven.

So, if you're in the neighborhood, work downtown or just like a pretty fantastic bar with moody vibes and killer food, head to Barbarossa.

Cheers!
