I'm always on the lookout for new places to do happy hour after work or grab a bite to eat in San Francisco. Just when I thought I hit the surface, I discovered Aveline in Union Square.
Aveline is an amazing restaurant connected to The European, so popping over to the bar beforehand is encouraged! I had the awesome opportunity of trying Executive Chef, Kaley Laird's newest dinner menu and it was insanely tasty.
Some highlights?
The staff at Aveline: Kaley Laird at only 27 years old is the restaurant's Executive Chef and her creativity knows no bounds! She crafted amazing dishes full of thought and color. I'll tell you more about that in a sec. Sarah Knoefler, General Manager of Aveline was absolutely gracious and showed us a phenomenal time. From divulging about the wine we were tasting to Laird's culinary aesthetic, Knoefler makes the experience ten times better.
The ambiance: Everything from the lighting, the tables, and the plating was beautiful. Elegant and refined.
The food: Obviously, the main event. We sampled a variety of dishes but some favorites included the corn fritters (phenomenal) and the blackened avocado with strawberry sofrito, pistachio pesto, and trub crumpet. The all-star? The Rye Campanelle Pasta. Spring peas, burrata cheese and mint perfectly complement the pasta making it a meal that's satisfying, but not overwhelming.
So what are you waiting for? Nom on, friends.
Cheers!
