Hi Everyone!
Happy Tuesday! I've mentioned this before, but I never used to wear flats. In fact, I used to hoard heels and even worn them in the Ohio snow. Word to the wise β it's a bad, bad idea.
However, since living in San Francisco, my style (and mentality on footwear) has shifted. I walk to work (it takes around an hour) and commuting in this city is far more easy on foot than by Lyft, Uber or Muni (sorry y'all, it's true). So, after a trial run of walking to work wearing a pair of heels, I learned that for me, it's all about function over fashion these days. But why can't a girl have it all, you know?
So, when DSW asked me to show my unique style with this season's hottest trends, well I happily obliged. And of course, went for some flat footwear. Don't get me wrong, y'all. I love over the knee boots, western wear and the like, but this whole modern sport trend has me super excited. AND above all, it's comfortable. No blisters for this B.
Maybe my love for comfy athleisure clothing comes from my adoration of Mel. C (aka: Sporty Spice), but whatever it is, I'll welcome this trend with cozy sweatshirted arms that are appropriate for the office AND at a bar! Ah!
I decided to rock these awesome Adidas sneaks (tennies?) with this sporty, yet feminine dress from Tobi! It's a little different than my normal day-to-day look (especially it being white) but to all the "No White After Labor Day" hataaaz, I say, "don't knock it till you've tried it."
Have you gotten into the athleisure trend? Are you know the person that wears sneaks with dresses? Do you rock the OTK boots? If so, I want to know!
Even better, I'm hosting an event with DSW THIS THURSDAY in San Francisco encouraging y'all to take some fall fashion chances and try a new style for yourself. If you try on one of the fall trends, you'll get 500 bonus points to DSW's Rewards program! Even better, for every pair of on-trend shoes you try on, you'll also be entered to win a gift card! And guys...the gift cards are gooooood.
So, find your solemate (had to) with me this Thursday! It'll be a boot scootin' (again) good time!
Cheers!
