DOG MOM SQUAD

Shirt: Lulusimon | Pants: Levi's | Shoes: Vans

If we're being candid, I'm not great with responsibility. At least I admit it, eh? But really, since I've been an only child I've lived life on my own timeline – doing things that I want when I want.

This all changed when we got a dog. Well, sort of. But like I mentioned earlier, it was a PRETTY big adjustment. You know – the 6 a.m. wakeup calls, going home after work and letting the pup out before anything else, and of course – having someone's livelihood depend on you. EEEEP!

Fast forward the five months since we adopted Bolt and I seriously can't think of something that makes me happier than him (well, maybe mozzarella sticks).

When we went to Oakland for our first adoption event, we spent a few hours meeting the dogs (seriously). We wanted to see if there was a connection and if the dogs had a bit more baggage than we bargained.

We  initially overlooked Bolt, but after a few hours and a bite to eat next door to the event, something kept forcing us to take another walk around the area. We saw Bolt being quiet and calm in his crate (unlike his adorable but energetic brother!) and asked if we could meet him.

We took him on a little walk, fell in love, and after a few days of thinking about it, made it official.

Bolt is one of the kindest, gentlest, goofiest pups and I feel SO lucky to have him in our lives. And you know you're a dog mom when you sleep on a tiny silver of the bed allowing your dog to have the rest, show off dog pictures any moment you can, rock t-shirts (like this lulusimon shirt!) to show off your dog mom pride, and so many more to count.

If you're looking to get a dog, please adopt/rescue! There are SO many beautiful pups that need a good home. Some of my favorites:
