Hi Everyone!

Happy Thursday! Continuing the trend of #ThankfulThursday, I want to highlight another amazing blogger and Ohio native -- Olivia from Baubles to Bubbles! Olivia hails from Cincinnati and a bit farther than where i'm originally from, but anyone from Ohio is usually badass and pretty phenomenal. Olivia is definitely no exception.

We met through each other blogs and to be honest, this is the entire reason I love blogging. Meeting inspiring, courageous and fashionable women who kick ass and take names.

I caught up with Olivia to ask her a few questions, so I hope you enjoy her blog as much as I do!

What initially sparked your interest in blogging?

I really didn’t know anything about blogging until I started one. I had recently graduated from college, and couldn’t find a good job (thanks job market), so I was feeling pretty down on myself. After doing some online job hunting one day, I came across a fashion blog, and immediately thought “Hey, I could do this!” I studied journalism in college and love fashion, so it seemed like the perfect outlet to start doing what I love. I had no idea what I was getting myself into, but now I can’t picture my life without it!

What’s your favorite pieces in your closet?

My favorite area of my closet is easily my dress section! I tell myself I need to stop buying dresses when I go shopping, but I can’t help myself. Dresses are what I feel the most confident in because of how comfortable and unrestrictive they are. My dress selection ranges from head-to-toe sequin numbers, to simple cotton dresses and everything in between! It goes without saying that spring and summer are my favorite seasons for this reason.

What would you say is the most challenging part of blogging? Most rewarding?

I’ve noticed two major challenges when it comes to blogging: the time commitment, and people’s negative reactions to having a blog. I never imagined the time I’d have to devote to maintain my blog! It was so overwhelming at first, and still overwhelms me. There’s no greater feeling though, when people respond positively to a post you worked hard on. Another challenge has been people looking at me like a crazy person when I say I have a blog. For the most part, everyone has been overwhelmingly supportive of what I do. But it’s also been tough to deal with people I know who make fun of what makes me happy.

There have honestly been so many rewarding parts of having a blog. Mainly, the amazing people I’ve gotten to meet because of it. I feel like I have hundreds of new friends even though I’ve never met most of them in person! Not to get too sappy here, but it’s so refreshing meeting people who share the same interests as you. Even though they may be hundreds of miles away, you feel like you can connect with them so easily.

Favorite thing to add to an otherwise “simple” outfit?

Up until recently, I would have 100% answered “jewelry” to this question. I mean, my love for jewelry is professed in my blog name. While jewelry still is my trusty best friend, I’ve been on a bit of a statement lip bender as of late. Red and pink lip stains are a current obsession right now, and I think they add so much to a simple look!

What influences or inspired your style?

I love seeing what other bloggers are into, and how they style similar pieces that I also have. It’s so fun to see a different take on styling.

How has Ohio influenced your style?

Living in Ohio my entire life has made me appreciate a casual yet chic style. I love to dress up, and if it were socially acceptable to wear fancy cocktail dresses everyday, I totally would (sidenote: If anyone knows of a place where this is acceptable, please let me know). I know Ohio isn’t a fashion mecca, but people here are great at wearing classic pieces and reinventing them every season. Functional and fashionable is how I aim to dress, and I think my fellow Ohioans share that notion!
